چکیده
Introduction: The objective of this study was to explore the electrical activity superficial muscles mastication required exert unilateral maximum bite force in subjects with different body mass index. Material and Methods: A cross-sectional observational conducted a sample 21 participants an average age 22.9 ± 3.5 years who were classified according their index, forming three groups: normal weight (18.5-24.9), overweight (25-29.9) obesity (≥30), seven each. Through surface electromyography, during right left evaluated. Results: No statistically significant differences observed between groups. data obtained from electromyographic analysis demonstrate trend indicating that index similarly activate on each side when performing particular side, while or obese demonstrated significantly greater activation temporalis muscle associated where maximal is performed. Conclusion: Our findings suggest not influenced by performance increased present

Temporal Changes in Lipid Profile and Anthropometric Parameters According to Body Mass Index, Among Iranian Adults
Introduction: The aim of this study was to examine in the lipid profile during 3.6 years and anthropometric parameters in Iranian adults the changes during 3.6 year body mass index (BMI). Materials and methods: Among participants of the Tehran lipid and glucose study (TLGS), 2940 non-diabetic adults, aged 20 years and older, who remained within the same BMI group during the two phases of the su...
متن کاملBody mass index values for newborns according to gestational age.
OBJECTIVE The combination of twho anthropometric parameters has been more appropriate to assess body composition and proportions in children, with special attention to the Body Mass Index (BMI), as it relates weight and length. However the BMI values for the neonatal period have not been determined yet. This study shows the BMI for newborns at different gestational ages represented in a normal ...

OBJECTIVES The purpose of our study was to determine structural and functional changes on left ventricular function (LV) according to body mass index (BMI) in normotansive overweight and obese children. STUDY DESIGN Thirty normotansive overweight children (group 2; mean age: 13.2 ± 2.1 years, BMI: 25-30 kg/m²), 30 obese children (group 3; mean age: 13.3 ± 2.0 years, BMI ≥ 30 kg/m²), and 50 he...
متن کاملMyofilament function and body mass index
Body mass is reported to influence myocardial performance. Recent studies have emphasised the importance of negative inotropic adipocyte-derived factors and their impact on cardiac contractile function. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We aimed to determine whether body mass impacts cardiac force development on the level of the contractile apparatus. We examined the influence ...
متن کاملMasticatory function in temporomandibular dysfunction patients: electromyographic evaluation.
Temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) is a complex disturbance that involves the masticatory muscles and/or temporomandibular joint, causing damage to the masticatory function. This study evaluated the electromyographic activity of the masseter muscle during habitual mastication of bread, apple, banana, cashew nut and paraffin film (Parafilm M) in 25 adult subjects, of both gender, with TMD. The ...
